‘Automation will boost tax collection, reduce payers’ hassles’

Automation of tax collection will ease hassles of the taxpayers while filing up their income tax returns and thus this digital process will increase the overall tax collection by the NBR.

Barrister Md Sameer Sattar, President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), said this at a workshop on “Personal Income Tax & Tax Return” organized by the DCCI recently, said a press release on Tuesday.

Sameer also said that in the new Income Tax Act 2023, there were many positive changes that are friendly for the tax payers like reducing submission of reports from 29 to 12 now, simplification of law of adjustment of loss, provision of self-assessment method.
