BCB suspends Tigers-Kiwis warm-up matches

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) suspended the two warm-up matches between Bangladesh Cricket team and New Zealand Cricket team. The warm-up matches were scheduled to be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on November 23 and November 24.

After finishing the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign, New Zealand Cricket team are scheduled to arrive in the city on November 21. The Tigers will take on the Kiwis in the first Test match, which will begin at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from November 28.

Bangladesh Cricket team will face New Zealand Cricket team in the second Test match, which will start at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from December 6.

The two Test matches are the part of the ICC Test Championship.

The Kiwis became tired as they are taking part in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for a long time. So, they don’t want to linger their tiredness.

The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) requested to BCB to suspend the two warm-up matches before the Test matches. The BCB is agreed with NZC. Thus, it cancelled the two warm-up matches.

After 2013, New Zealand Cricket team will play two Test matches against Bangladesh Cricket team in Bangladesh.

Earlier, the two-Test match series between Bangladesh and New Zealand ended in draws.
