Journalist Aminur Rahman passes away

Senior journalist Aminur Rahman Taj breathed his last at his Malibagh residence on Monday morning.

He was 68.

Taj, former Vice-President of Crime Reporters’ Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), died of cardiac arrest at around 10.10 am.

Aminur Rahman Taj, Acting Editor of Ajker Doinik suffered a cardiac arrest on October 7 and underwent treatment at National Heart Foundation. He was brought back home recently.

His first namaj-e-janaza was held on Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) premises at 3pm. DRU president Mursalin Nomani, CRAB president Mirza Mehedi Tomal, former president of CRAB and BSS City Editor Madhusudan Mondal and former CRAB president Pervej Khan recalled his memory before the janaza.

Among others, former presidents and general secretary of DRU, CRAB, Jatiya Press Club, Dhaka Union of Journalists, Bangladesh Federal Union ofJournalists joined the janaza.

Later, floral wreaths were placed on Taj’s coffin on behalf of DRU, CRAB and DRU Cooperative Society.

Taj was buried at Azimpur Graveyard after Asr Prayers on Monday.
