Call to raise awareness to prevent AC-related accidents

Institute of Engineers’ Bangladesh (IEB) President Abdus Sabur said awareness should be raised among people to prevent air conditioner-related accidents.
“Eighteen million people live in the country. As a result of human growth and globalization, the temperature of the country is increasing continuously .The use of heating, air conditioner and refrigerators is increasing risk of accidents,” he said, reports UNB.
He said this on the twenty-seventh instant while speaking in a seminar titled HVAC and R Application for Mankind – Bangladesh Perspective held in the city at IEB conference hall.
Mechanical Engineering Department of Institute of Engineers’ Bangladesh ( IEB) organised the seminar.
Saying that crores of people are involved in this sector, he said air conditioning and refrigeration has become a growing industry in Bangladesh.
This sector needs to be further developed with awareness and safety, he also said.
Engineer S.M Monjurul Haque Monju in his welcome speech said any accident involving those can be dealt with only by good control of efficient engineering system.
Chairman of the Mechanical Department of IEB engineer Ahsan Bin Basar presided over the seminar.
