Dengue cases rise in Daudkandi 30 test positive in 24 hours
The number of dengue patients is increasing in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla, a total of 145 people were tested for dengue in the past 24 hours, with 30 testing positive.
According to the latest data issued on Wednesday. Three of them were diagnosed at government facilities and 27 at private facilities.
According to Dr Habibur Rahman, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, a total of 678 people have been diagnosed with dengue in Daudkandi so far this year. Of them, 150 were diagnosed at government facilities and 528 at private facilities. The number of dengue cases was 182 in July, 397 in August and 30 in September.
A total of 180 dengue patients have been admitted to government hospitals this year. Of them, 165 have been discharged after treatment, while 15 are currently undergoing treatment. In July, 38 patients were admitted, followed by 75 in August and four in September.
The Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex currently has 323 diagnostic kits in stock for dengue testing.
Authorities have stressed the need to keep homes and surrounding areas clean and destroy Aedes mosquito breeding grounds to prevent the spread of dengue. People have also been urged to prevent water from accumulating and seek medical advice promptly if they develop a fever.
