Anwarul Haque Bablu, former Chairman of Akkelpur Upazila Parishad and also a politburo member of the Workers Party of Bangladesh, passed away at his Akkelpur’s residence in Joypurhat on Tuesday night. He was 65.
Family sources said Bablu had been suffering from prolonged illness.
He left behind his wife and daughter and a host of relatives, friends, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He was buried at Hastabasantapur village graveyard on Wednesday noon following a namaj-e-janaja at Shah Makdhum Eidgah field.
Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League and whip of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon, MP, expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Anwarul Haque Bablu.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
