Man found dead on Dhaka Elevated Expressway

Police recovered the body of an unidentified man with his face wrapped in Scotch tape from the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Banani on Friday morning, suspecting he was murdered and dumped there.

Motorists spotted the body lying on the expressway and alerted police, following which a team from Banani Police Station went to the spot and recovered it.

The body was found on the Dhaka Airport-bound lane near the Army Stadium at around 9:45am, police said.

Officer-in-Charge of Banani Police Station Md Mohammad Faridul Islam said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

“We suspect that someone killed him and dumped the body on the elevated expressway,” the OC said.
Police were examining CCTV footage from the area to determine how the body was brought there and identify those responsible, he said.

Legal proceedings have been initiated to establish the deceased’s identity and arrest those responsible, the OC added.
