Production of skilled work forces crucial to face 4IR challenges

With the call for knowledge-based education the Technical and Vocational Education Week was inaugurated on Wednesday in Chapainawabganj.
DC of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan inaugurated the week as chief guest by flying baloons on the Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute premises at Baroghoria in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila .
Later a colourful procession was taken out from there. After parading the main roads of the area the procession ended at the same venue. discussion meeting was held. with the principal of the Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute AJM Masudur Rahman in the chair it was attended among others by principal of Chapainawabganj Technical Training Centre Md. Moinuddin, chief instructor (Electrical) Afida Rahman, chief instructor (Tech/RC) Md. Abdul Malek and institutional heads of different Technical Institutions of the district.
The chief guest said, “We have entered into the fourth industrial revolutionary era.”
He added that prime minister Sheikh Hasina has made a ‘BA-Deep’ plan that includes SDG plan and building smart Bangladesh by 2041.
He asked all to be smart with efficiency to build up Smart Bangladesh.
The week will conclude on Sunday next through a seminar and prize distribution, the speakers of the inaugural function mentioned.
Senior Staff Reporter, Rangpur adds: Colorful rallies, technical fairs, seminars, parent conferences and cultural programmes were organized to celebrate the Technical and Vocational Education Week on Wednesday.
A colorful rally with participation of teachers and students of 14 public and private technical and vocational educational institutions of the city was brought out from the RPI premises on the city streets.
Later, heroic freedom fighter Md Mahbubur Rahman attended the seminar as the chief guest with RPI Principal Engineer Md Fariduddin Ahmed in the chair.
Vice-principal of RPI Engineer Md Tazul Islam, Principals, Vice-principals and teachers and students of different technical and vocational institutes also spoke.
Engineer Fariduddin Ahmed discussed the importance of technical and vocational education and gaining of skills, abilities and competencies by young generations as tools to adapt to the real work situation and contribute to national development.
Principal Fariduddin Ahmed said technical and vocational education has become popular with increasing admission rate as per the government’s call to produce skilled technical workforces, engineers, planners and architects for building a developed nation.
The chief guest stressed on popularizing technical and vocational education to produce skilled human resources for accelerating the pace of national advancement to make the fourth industrial revolution a success in the competitive 21st century.
