3 nabbed with yaba in Pabna
Three people have been arrested with 150 Yaba tablets in Pabna. Two suspects were arrested initially, while another was later detained based on information provided during interrogation.
The arrests were made during a raid near Anis Store at Jhalai Patti in Pabna’s Boro Bazar on Wednesday. Md. Rashidul Islam, officer-in-charge confirmed this.
The arrested men are Ruhul Quddus Oli, 39, of Dilalpur; Sajol Ahmed Saju alias Abu Huraira Sajol, 36, of Gobinda; and Md Selim Hossain, 44, also of Gobinda.
According to District Detective Branch (DB) police, three people attempted to flee when officers reached the area following a tip-off. Police chased and detained two of them. A search of Oli led to the recovery of 150 Yaba tablets weighing 15 grams in total.
During initial questioning, Oli allegedly told police that he had collected the Yaba tablets from Sajol with Selim’s assistance. Acting on the information, DB police raided Sajol’s residence in Gobinda at around 12:45am on Thursday and arrested him while he was allegedly trying to flee.
Police said the three suspects admitted during preliminary questioning that they had been involved in supplying Yaba to drug dealers and users in different parts of Pabna.
Legal proceedings are underway against the arrested men under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. DB police said efforts are continuing to identify and arrest other members of the network and recover additional drugs.
