The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Sunday the 15-member Bangladesh Test squad for lone Test match against Afghanistan. Afghanistan Cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on June 10. The only Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from June 14 to June 18. Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das will lead the squad in absence of Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out from the all sort of cricket for six weeks due to injury.
The newcomers in the squad are: Batter Shahadat Hossain of Chattogram Divisional team and pacer Mushfik Hasan of Rangpur
Divisional team.
Shahadat Hossain is a 21-year old right-arm middle order batter. He made his debut in first-class cricket in the year of 2021. He played 20 first class matches. He scored 1265 runs with two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
Mushfik Hasan is a 20-year old pacer. He made his debut in first class cricket in the year of 2022. He played 13 matches. He bagged 49 wickets. He had five-wicket haul for three times.
Shahadat Hossain, Mushfik Hasan played for Bangladesh A Cricket team against West Indies A Cricket team in the recently concluded three-match unofficial Test series.
Senior players like Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim have been included in the squad. Pacer Taskin Ahmed has been called for the lone Test match against Afghanistan. Pacers Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam have been included in the squad.
After ending the Test match, Afghanistan Cricket team will visit India. Then, Afghanistan Cricket team will come to Bangladesh on July 1 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches and two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against Bangladesh Cricket team. Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the first ODI at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on July 5. The Tigers will face Afghanistan in the second ODI at the same venue on July 8. Bangladesh will meet Afghanistan in the third ODI at the same venue on July 11.
Then, Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on July 14. Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in the second T20I at the same venue on July 16.
