Bangladesh Bank plans to introduce digital bank

Bangladesh Bank will soon introduce a digital bank in the country, its governor Abdur Rouf Talukder said.
The central bank governor made the disclosure at the inaugural session of the two-day-long digital transformation summit on Wednesday hosted by the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) Limited.
The governor also said that they are planning to an online real-time credit scoring system. “We are also close to introducing the country’s first debit card,” he added.
Speaking as the chief guest, the BB governor said the banking operations holistically changed all over the world because of the intervention of artificial intelligence (AI) in the era of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). So, bankers have to prepare themselves digitally to cope with rapid change in the business.
