NRBC Bank introduces QR code statement verification

NRBC Bank PLC has introduced a ‘Quick Response (QR) Statement Enablement’ service to facilitate the instant verification of customers’ bank statements.

Under the new service, the QR code embedded in a bank statement can be scanned to instantly view and verify the statement details on a mobile device, said a media release.

Bank statements are often required for visa applications to foreign embassies, bank loan applications, and access to various government and private-sector services.

The new digital service has been introduced to enable the concerned authorities to quickly and conveniently verify the authenticity of submitted bank statements, making the verification process faster, easier, more transparent, and secure, said the press release.

The service was formally launched recently at a hotel in Dhaka by Md. Ali Hossain Prodhania, chairman of the Board of Directors of NRBC Bank.

The launch event was chaired by Dr Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank.

Among others, the event was attended by Md. Nurul Haque, chairman of the Risk Management Committee; Muhammad Emdad Ullah, FCMA, FCA, CPA, chairman of the Audit Committee; Independent Directors Md. Abul Bashar, Md. Anwar Hossain, and Barrister Md. Shafiqur Rahman.
