Priyanka Chopra teams up with Russell Crowe
Oscar winner Russell Crowe and global star Priyanka Chopra have been cast in the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Bluefly.
The project marks another exciting step in Priyanka’s expanding career in global cinema, as she continues to take on diverse roles and collaborate with acclaimed international talent.
With Bluefly, she is set to enter the world of military action and science fiction in what promises to be an intense new cinematic experience.
Set against the backdrop of a dangerous mission in Congo, Bluefly follows a team tasked with recovering an aircraft under perilous circumstances.
While plot details surrounding Priyanka’s character are currently under wraps, her casting alongside Russell Crowe has already generated interest around the project.
The project will be directed by Nimród Antal, who previously helmed Predators (2010).
The screenplay has been penned by David Frigerio alongside William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank. The trio earlier collaborated on the sci-fi film The Signal (2014).
The narrative revolves around a United Nations translator who is recruited into a high-stakes black-ops mission to recover a fallen aircraft. During the operation, the team uncovers deeper secrets hidden within the crash site.
Highland Film Group CEO Arianne Fraser commended the lead actors, noting that Crowe and Chopra Jonas will bring remarkable depth to the action thriller.
Company COO Delphine Perrier highlighted that Bluefly offers an intense narrative with unexpected plot twists under Antal’s direction.
Oscar-winner Russell Crowe recently appeared in Nuremberg and is slated to star in upcoming ventures, including Netflix’s Unabomber and the reboot of Highlander.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently led and produced The Bluff and starred in Heads of State. Her upcoming slate also includes S.S. Rajamouli’s project Varanasi and the survival thriller Reset opposite Orlando Bloom.
