Celebrating birthday in meaningful ways

Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin :
Celebration of a birth day of anyone is a nice and memorable event in life. But the poor people do not get the taste of birth day celebration because of their financial constraint. Many people didn’t even know when their birthday was. However, celebrating birthday with poor children can be a wonderful way to make one’s birthday more meaningful and memorable. Bringing happiness and joy to the less fortunate children may be a good purpose for celebrating birthday. The poor has a birthday but not the event of celebration. A culture of birthday celebration with poor children has a taste of joy and pleasure that some people may enjoy. There are many ways to celebrate birthday with poor children, depending on money and interests. Local charity organizations may organize birth day events with underprivileged children as their social work. Birthday celebration can teach children kindness, generosity, and compassion if they are allowed to do this with underprivileged children.
Celebrating birthday with only rich food with rich friends and family members may not give taste and satisfaction as it might be given with poor and destitute. Their joy and happiness may give a new learning lesson to a child of rich family through celebrating birthday with them. Flower does not bloom for its own. It gives happiness and pleasure and a good fragrance to others. If someone thinks that he/she can be like a flower and likes to give happiness to others, then it could be a best way to celebrate birthday with the less privileged children for their pleasure. Through this practice a child can learn the patriotism and grow up as a patriotic citizen for the country. Parents can encourage their children to celebrate birthday with poor children to get a taste of partnership which will enlighten them to be responsible citizens.
Celebrating birthday can also be thrilled through engaging oneself with conducting or joining the cooking class on how to cook good food, to learn how to hoist mosquito net, washing dishes, cleaning house and washing own cloths, ironing the clothes, or small repair work for own car and washing the car etc. Parents should motivate their children to do things at their own hands in this special day. The children will get a taste of doing a new thing at his own hand and will understand that this kind of essential works can be done easily if someone wants that and this will give a sense of confidence. This kind of new pleasure will add a new value in their journey of life which can be very joyful lessons to the children. When they go outside home or family or country such as going abroad for study purposes, necessary things for daily life such as washing dishes, cleaning home, repairing small daily essentials can be helpful for them. Otherwise they will be just helpless in their daily life.
Ultimately, the most meaningful way to celebrate birthday will depend on personal values and interests. Birthday is an opportunity to make a positive impact on society and culture. Parents must acknowledge that the main reason of arranging an event of birthday just not for own happiness rather making other people happy. Selfish mindset should not be promoted before children as we wish Allah to be companionate to us.
The most important thing about celebrating a birthday is surrounding people irrespective of rich or poor need to be cared and valued. Even with limited resources, we can still have a meaningful and fun celebration with poor. The important thing is to spend time with the children and make them feel special. By showing kindness and compassion to others, birth day celebration can be a truly meaningful experience. Going as a group to a local amusement park, zoo, or museum may be an enjoyable part for the poor children. Birthdays are special occasions because it is a time to celebrate another year of life, to reflect on past experiences, and to look forward to the future. However, not everyone has the opportunity to celebrate their birthdays in a special way, especially those who are living in poverty. As a result, it is important to find ways to make birthdays special for all children. One way to celebrate a birthday with poor children is to host a party for them. This can be done in a variety of ways, such as at a community center, a local park, or even in a backyard.
In addition to hosting a party, gifts or donation of toys or books to the poor children can be a good source of pleasure. Many children living in poverty do not have access to toys or books, so receiving these items can be a special treat for them. Overall, celebrating a birthday with poor children is an opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives. By hosting a party, providing gifts, or volunteering time to community such as sweeping community road, school premises may give a sense that his or her existence on earth is for making a little difference in the society as a responsible member. It is important to remember that even small acts of kindness can have a significant impact on the lives of less privileged children. By showing compassion and generosity, our little angel can make the world a better place for every child irrespective of their parents’ finical constraint.
