Syndicate behind essentials price hike, needs action against them: Raushan

Chief patron of Jatiya Party (JaPa) and also Opposition Leader in the Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad has urged the government to keep the prices of daily commodities within a tolerable limit during the holy month of Ramzan.
In a statement signed by Golam Moshi, Political Secretary to Begum Raushan Ershad, said that prices of essentials are galloping in the country, making it dearer for commoners. Though the government is saying that prices of essentials gone up due to Ukraine war and coronavirus, but some dishonest traders under syndication are behind the increase of prices of essentials, she said in her statement.
The low and middle income people have been leading their daily lives under miserable conditions as their purchase capacity gone beyond them, the statement said.
The Opposition leader in the Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad said that there are huge demand of edible oil, gram, lentil, onion, spices, sugar and dates in the month of holy Ramzan, but a section of rogue traders hiked the prices through syndicate to earn fabulous profit.
She urged the government for taking strong legal action against the dishonest traders who are responsible for the price hike of essentials through syndication.
