Bangladesh female football team have been billed in Group-B of the Olympic Qualifiers. The final round of football competition of the Olympic Games will be held at Paris, the capital city of France in 2024.
The draw ceremony of the Qualifiers of Asian zone was held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia on Thursday. A total of 26 teams splitting into seven groups will take part in the Qualifiers of the Asian zone. Bangladesh, Maldives, Iran and Myanmar have been placed in Group-B. Four teams each in five groups, while three teams each in two groups will compete in first round of the Qualifiers. The matches of Bangladesh will be held from April 3 to April 11. The venue of the Group-B have not yet finalised. Top one team from each group and North Korea, South Korea, China, Australia and Japan will play in the next round. The 12 teams dividing into four groups will take part in the next round.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton said, ” Iran and Myanmar are strong teams. Earlier, our team conceded defeats to them. In that time our players were under age. So, they made some mistakes. I hope my girls will not do mistakes in this time. The girls will give fight and they will present competitive football.”
