Bangladesh win 3 bronze medals

Bangladesh won three bronze medals in compound division of ongoing Asia Cup World ranking tournament stage-3 was held on Saturday in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
Archer Newaz Ahmed Rakib won the bronze medal in the compound men’s singles event after beating his Kazakhstan rival Tyutyun Andrey by 141-140 points in the bronze-deciding match.
In the compound mixed team event, Bangladesh archery team featuring Newaz Ahmed Rakib and Roksana Akter won the bronze medal beating their Vietnam rivals by 154-146 points in the bronze-deciding match.
 
In the compound men’s team event, Bangladesh team comprising Newaz Ahmed Rakib, Mohammad Asikuzzaman and Sohel Rana secured bronze medal defeating their Vietnam rivals by 227-221 points in the bronze-deciding match.
 
In the compound women’s team event, Bangladesh however lost to Kazakhstan by 205-219 points in the bronze-deciding match.  
 
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel will compete for the gold medal deciding match in the recurve men’s singles event scheduled to be held today.
 
The Bangladesh archery team are participating in the following nine out of ten events.
 
The events are recurve men’s single event, recurve women’s single event, recurve men’s team event, recurve mixed team event, compound men’s single event, compound women’s single event, compound men’s team event, compound women’s team event and compound mixed team event.
