10 fraud gang members held with fake gold bars in the capital

Detective Branch of Wari Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 10 people including the mastermind of a fraud gang with fake gold bars, fake magnetic pillars and coins and fake ID card of customs’ officials by conducting a special operation.
The accused are identified as Md. Bashar Mollah, Sheikh Sohag Hossain Mintu, Deen Mohammad, Md. Jewel Shikder, alleged Dr. Mozammel Khan alias Akash, Sheikh Ali Akbar, Md Jamal Faraji, Md Sohail Shikder, Md Billal Hossain and Md Shahriar Iqbal.
This fraudster gang has successfully cheated the common people by claiming to supply magnetic pillars, coins and gold bars and has looted Tk 11 crore.
On Sunday, the Organised Crime and Car Theft Prevention Team of the Detective Wari Division arrested them in a raid in the capital’s airport and Dakshinkhan thana areas.
At that time, four fake gold bars, gold bar making machine, copper wire, chemical for melting wire, fake ID card of Human Rights and fake ID card of Civil Aviation were recovered from their possession.
DMP’s Joint Commissioner of Police (Admin & DB South) Sanjit Kumar Roy, disclosed this to the journalists at a press briefing organised at DMP Media Center on Monday.
According to the DB officials, this organised gang used to make fake gold bars melting copper wire.
