PM visits injured army officer at CMH

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday visited a critically injured army officer undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka and directed the authorities to ensure his proper treatment.

The officer was critically injured in an accident during a tank firing exercise at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram on Wednesday.

Visiting the CMH at noon, the prime minister enquired about the officer’s physical condition and wished him a speedy and complete recovery, his Deputy Press Secretary Suzauddoula (Sujon Mahmud) said.

Tarique Rahman spoke to the injured officer and his family members, offering them courage and consolation during the difficult time.

He also gave necessary instructions to the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment of the injured officer, the deputy press secretary said.

The injured officer had been airlifted to the CMH in Dhaka for advanced treatment following the accident.
The incident claimed the lives of two Bangladesh Army soldiers, while the officer sustained critical injuries during the exercise.

The prime minister expressed profound grief over the deaths of the two army personnel and conveyed his sympathy to their bereaved families.
