CMP’s ‘Nirapad Sarak’ step for public safety
Chattogram Bureau :
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has taken the initiative to make ‘Amar Gari Nirapad’ for the purpose of establishing it as a safe vehicle day and night for CNG-powered autorickshaw passengers in the city, especially for women and children.
This initiative is an attempt to spread the feeling of safety and security among the passengers.
Under this initiative, owners and drivers of all CNG-powered autorickshaws operating in metropolitan areas with valid paperwork will be verified by filling up a specific form. Each owner and driver information will be stored on a police server and each will be given a separate QR code and numeric ID card. Passengers will then be able to scan the ID or QR code to find out all the information about the driver and the owner.
The event was inaugurated by Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir at noon on Monday at the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Lines in Dampara. Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Md. Shamsul Alam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration and Finance) Shaminur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Amir Zafar and other senior police officers and transport owners and labor leaders were present on the occasion.
