KUET launches ‘Mosquito Control Week 2026’

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has launched a week-long ‘Mosquito Control Week 2026’ campaign to prevent mosquito-borne diseases and ensure a healthy environment on the campus. KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Mashud inaugurated the campaign on Thursday.

Speaking at the inauguration, the vice-chancellor stressed the need for regular mosquito-control and cleanliness drives, alongside active participation and awareness among teachers, officials, employees and students.

He urged everyone to work together to keep the campus clean and eliminate potential mosquito breeding grounds.

The campaign will continue from September 17 to 23. As part of the programme, mosquito-control and cleaning activities will be carried out in residential halls, academic and administrative buildings.

Prof Dr Mohammad Abu Yusuf, dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities and chairman of the university’s Security Committee, also spoke at the programme.

He stressed the importance of regular mosquito-control measures as well as maintaining cleanliness across the campus.

Deans of different faculties, directors of institutes, the acting registrar, heads of departments, directors, branch heads, and teachers, officials and employees of the university attended the event.
