Actually I’m dropped from the T20I side, not rested: Mushfiqur

Agency :
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim said on Wednesday that he was eyeing to make a comeback in the shortest format after getting dropped from the national team for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday named a 16-member squad without Mushfiqur for the Pakistan T20Is and insisted that they rested him with keeping in mind their upcoming four ICC Test Championship matches against Pakistan and New Zealand which are scheduled after the T20I series.
However, only a day after the squad announcement, Mushfiqur claimed that he’s actually dropped from the T20I side and he took their decision sportingly.
“They told me that they’re (selection panel, management, head coach and team director) not considering me (for Pakistan T20Is),” he said when his attention was drawn regarding the statement made by the selectors.
“There will be ups and downs in a cricketer’s career and this’s not the first time I’m getting dropped (after 2008) but probably after a long gap…There is no problem (getting dropped) and I’m not taking it negatively.
“I have always tried for Bangladesh and will do the same in future. There are times when I can perform and there are times when I fail. It’s not the end of the world and if there is an opportunity (in T20Is) I will try to give my best shot,” he said, adding that that the selection panel should have the guts to say the truth of dropping him instead of terming it as a rest considering he is completely fine.
“Certainly (they should have said that I’m dropped) because everyone should say the truth because nothing is bigger than the team and I’m just an ordinary member,” he said.
“The performance goes up and down and everyone should be judged by performance and fitness. They could have easily said that we are thinking of someone else and not considering you in this series and if you can perform then….probably that is the process.
