Riaz was not granted anticipatory bail despite appearing in court

Film actor Riaz was denied anticipatory bail in two murder cases filed in connection with the July Movement.

He appeared in person at the High Court on Thursday and applied for anticipatory bail.

After the hearing, a High Court bench comprising Justice KM Zahid Sarwar and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher rejected his anticipatory bail application.

Senior lawyer Motahar Hossain Saju appeared for the petition in court.

Deputy Attorney General Manjurul Alam Sujan appeared for the state. Deputy Attorney General Manjurul Alam Sujan confirmed the order.
