BMW ‘used for smuggling’ seized in city

A team of the Rapid Action Battalion confiscated an abandoned luxury car of BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) brand on charge of illegal ownership and false documents from a garage in the city’s Golapbagh area on Thursday night, the elite force official said.
“Tipped off, a team of RAB-3 recovered the car after they conducted drive at Golapbaag,” said Aminul Islam, Operation Officer of the RAB-3.
Absence of legal papers and ownership proves that the car was bought with
black money to use for smuggling, the RAB official said. The caretaker of the house said that a man named Abul Hossein, an acquainted with the owner of the house, left the car in the garage about a month ago, he said.
The car was bought with the black money and used for smuggling of drugs and committing crimes, claimed Aminul Islam.
“We are investigating the matter,” the RAB official added.
