Special security measures in govt key point installations

Law enforcing agencies tighten security measures in govt owned key point installations (KPI) in the port city following the recent militant attacks in Gulshan and Solakia .
Additional security forces have been deployed in Chittagong Port, Shah Amanat International Airport, power plants and oil refineries. In addition, security forces incrased in the offices of diplomatic missions and foreign donor agencies, CMP sources said. The special security measures were taken with the directives of respective high commands following the recently militants attacks in Dhaka and Kishoregonj.
Security measures tightens in these above KPIs in Chittagong from Wednesday morning . CMP sources said additional law enforcers deployed in seaport, airport, state owned oil installations of Padma, Meghna, Zamuna and Easter Refiniries, CEPZ and other important govt offices and courts in the city . Meanwhile 1600 law enforcers remain alert to safeguard the foreigners working in Chittagong including diplomatic missions.
Security tightens in and around the Chittagong seaport and the Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport from very beginning of this week. All the law enforcing members remained alert outside and inside the airport areas, Airport manager sources said. The numbers of armed police battalion, ansars and customs intelligence have been increased in the airport from Monday.
Besides, RAB and police members also patrolling as regular routine duties. Airport Manager of the Civil Aviation authority Wing Commander Md. Reazul Kabir told that following the unwanted incidents in Gulshan restaurant and Solakia’s Eid Jamaat, the security measures increased in this airport and deployed additional security forces. Airport sources said two check posts installed in entry point of the airport for scanning the luggage of the passengers and searching the bodies of the suspicious passengers.
A reliable airport sources said additional 50 armed police forces have been deployed in addition of the existing and directed the all officials and workers of the airport to remain alert against any nuisances. Sources said now 300 APBN forces are discharging responsibilities round the clock in the airport beside the police and RABs. Check posts in city’s key points installed from Wednesday suspecting the movement of the militants and police members are randomly checking the luggage’s of the train and bus passengers if suspected .
Besides, CMP police rounded up 64 persons allegedly involved with the different criminal offenses and accused in several case on Wednesday night In the raid police recovered 2,212 pieces of yaba and 20 liters Sholai madh from their possession. A number of cases have been filed in different CMP thanas, sources said.
