Kalabagan set up exciting 8-run victory in DPL

An allround performance came from Kalabagan Krira Chakra saw them to earn an exciting eight runs victory over Victoria Sporting Club in Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Chasing a winning target of 214 runs set by Kalabagan, Victoria SC found the chase very stiff losing wickets in regular intervals and finally dismissed at 205 in 49.4 overs.
Al-Amin top scored with 67 runs followed by Jubair Ahmed’s unbeaten 35 runs. Sharifullah was the most successful bowler for Kalabagan as he bagged three wickets for 32 runs while Abdur Razzak picked up two wickets giving away 45 runs.
Earlier, Kalabagan, rod on Mehrab Hosain Jr.’s responsible half century, scored a moderate total of 213 for all in 49 overs, after they opted to bat first. After the initial batting jolt in Kalabagan innings, Mehrab Jr. took the responsibility contributing unbeaten 86-run off 112-ball faced with four boundaries to take his team over two hundred landmark.
Mahbubul Alam captured three wickets for Victoria conceding 54 runs while Al-Amin, PC de Silva and Kamrul Islam Rabbi shared two wickets apiece.
Mehrab Hossain Jr. of Kalabagan was named the player of the match.
