Non Communicable Disease Forum (NCDF)
The Non Communicable Disease Forum (NCDF) and Eminence Associates for Social Development are jointly going to organise a meeting on the scopes of forming a intra parliamentary forum for non communicable diseases in Bangladesh and its opportunity in establishing and strengthening NCD related policies and activities locally as well as regionally and globally. The meeting will be held today ( January 20) in the National Parliament House (Conference Hall of Ministers Hostel) from 11.00am to 2.00pm. The meeting will be presided by Dr. Rashid E Mahbub, Chairman, NCDF. Prof. Dr.A.F.M. Ruhal Haq MP and Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Science and Technology will be present as special guest while Dr. Habibe Millat MP as the Chief Guest of the meeting. Dr. Shamim Hayder Talukder, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eminence will give a presentation on the importance and scopes of forming a parliamentary forum on NCDs and its future activities roadmap.
Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal
Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a statement on Tuesday bitterly criticized the arrest of 37 leaders and activists of the party including senior Vice-President of Sonargaon Poura BNP Shahjahan Member, Acting Organising Secretary of Sonargaon thana BNP Kazi Nazrul Islam Titu and Narayanganj Zila Chhatra Dal leader Khairul Islam Sabuj. He demanded release of the party leaders and activists immediately. Fakhrul said that the ruling party government trying to weaken BNP by resorting to mass arrest.
BD Diploma Unemployed Nurses Association
Bangladesh Diploma Unemployed Nurses Association observed a sit-in in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday with the president of the association Rina Aktar in the chair. Leaders of the central, divisional and districts level addressed the programme. While addressing speakers demanded of the government to appoint nurses according to merit and seniority withdrawing the decision of ongoing process for the appointment of nurses. The speakers also threatened to forge tougher movement if their demands are not met immediately. Secretary General of the organisation Faruque Hossain conducted the programme.
