Mohakhali petrol pump blaze brought under control

A fire that broke out at a refuelling station in the capital’s Mohakhali area has been brought under control.
The blaze was reported at around 7:18pm on Sunday evening at the Eureka Petrol Pump near RAWA Club leaving fire service units stuck in heavy traffic while trying to reach the scene.
However, 10 firefighting units brought the fire under control at 7:47pm
Initially, three firefighting units were deployed at the scene. Several loud
explosions were heard at the refuelling station.
The cause of the fire and extent of damage could not be known immediately.
According to officials, the blaze was brought under control within a short period, preventing major damage and casualties. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
No injuries have been reported so far, and normal operations in the surrounding area have resumed. Fire safety experts have advised local petrol stations to review safety protocols to prevent future incidents.
