Hure Jannat takes charge as Khulna DC

Hure Jannat, a member of the 27th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre, has officially assumed office as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate of Khulna.

She took charge on Thursday ( April 2,2026) morning, succeeding outgoing DC ASM Jamshed Khondker, who formally handed over responsibilities.

Upon joining, Hure Jannat expressed her commitment to ensuring good governance, accelerating overall development, and improving the quality of public service delivery in the district.

Prior to this appointment, she served as Deputy Secretary at the Secondary and Higher Education Division, where she played a significant role in education administration and policymaking.

Officials concerned hope that her administrative experience and leadership will bring renewed momentum to Khulna’s development initiatives.

A distinguished native of Dinajpur, Jannat has held several key government positions over the years. Her appointment is being seen as the beginning of a new chapter in Khulna’s district administration.
