Language Day is not even observed in these religious institutions: 100 Biyanibazar madrashas yet to build Shaheed Minar

None of the hundreds of madrasas in Bianibazar upazila in Sylhet district have Shaheed Minar. International Mother Language Day is observed in none of these religious institutions or there is no custom of paying respect. So, the madrasah students are not getting knowledge about the history and importance of International Mother Language Day. The people of these areas have demanded to take the initiative to build Shaheed Minar in these institutions soon.
Bianibazar upazila secondary education officer Mouludur Rahman said that there are 14 senior madrasas in the upazila. Besides, around one hundred religious institutions including Qaumi, Hafizia Madrasa are being managed with the help of locals. Even though there are so many Madrasahs, Shaheed Minar has not been seen in any of them. Talking to the teachers and students of the madrasa, it is known that so far no initiative has been taken to build Shaheed Minar anywhere in the upazila. On International Mother Language Day, Madrasahs do not pay tribute even by temporarily erecting Shaheed Minars.
