South Africa emerge champions

South Africa Under-19 Cricket team emerged champions of the ICC Under-19 World Cup Cricket when they recorded an easy six-wicket victory over Pakistan Under-19 Cricket team in final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates on Saturday.Chasing Pakistan’s paltry total of 131 off 44.3 overs, South Africa sailed home making 134 runs for the loss of four wickets when they had 7.5 overs to spare.South Africa made a fragile start losing their early two wickets for 28 runs.Later, AK Markram and G Oldfield repaired the damage adding together 71 runs in the third wicket stand before Oldfield was caught behind by Saifullah Khan off Karamat Ali when South Africa’s total was 99 for the loss of three wickets.AK Makram remained unbeaten with 66. His patient 125-ball innings was laced with six fours while G Oldfield made a worthy 40 from 68 balls with two fours.Karamat Ali claimed two wickets in lieu of 24 runs while Zia-ul-Haq and Amad Butt plucked one wicket each for 27 and 30 runs respectively.Earlier, Amad Butt was the only batsman for Pakistan who fought back making an undefeated 37. His 54-ball knock was ornamented with four fours.C Bosh of South Africa captured four wickets in the space of 15 runs while V Valli and G Dill bagged a pair of wickets each instead of 19 and 29 runs respectively.Besides, K Rabada and N Sigwili took one wicket each for 26 and 40 runs respectively.
