Samira Khan Mahi crowned ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh 2026’
Popular model and TV actress Samira Khan Mahi is going to compete for Bangladesh in the upcoming ‘Miss Universe’.
Mahi has already been crowned as the winner of ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh 2026’. Mahi was crowned by last year’s ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh’ Tangia Zaman Methila as the winner.

The grand finale of 75th edition of the Miss World pageant will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 24. Mahi will represent Bangladesh there.
The organisers said in a statement said that Mahi’s name was officially finalised as the winner at a ceremony held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Purbachal Expressway in the capital on Saturday night.
Then last year’s ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh’ winner Methila crowned her. However, there was no competition here.
The organisers selected Mahi and crowned her. Mahi herself said that this will be a matter for the future.
Samira Khan Mahi said on Sunday evening, “Every year the ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh’ competition is organised. But this time it was not organised.
They selected me.” For the final round, Mahi wore a shimmering champagne-gold mermaid gown featuring an off-shoulder design and elaborate stone embellishments.
Miss Universe Bangladesh National Director Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, film actresses Tama Mirza and Prarthana Fardin Dighi, filmmaker Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, and several models and choreographers were present at the event.
Samira Khan Mahi, who is excited about the opportunity to represent the country on such an international stage, said, “This is the first time I have gotten such an opportunity where Bangladesh, our culture and people can be showcased on an international scale.
Although I have received love from the audience in the country through my drama work, this is my first journey in the international arena. Along with excitement, I am also a little scared.”
Highlighting that this journey is going to begin at a very short notice, she said, “The final decision was made just five days ago that I am going. Preparing to represent a country on the international stage in such a short time is not easy, it is quite difficult.”
The organisers said that Mahi will participate in the 75th ‘Miss Universe International’ competition from November 11. In 2019, Shirin Shila, in 2024, Aniqa Alam, and in 2025, Tangia Zaman Methila were selected as ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh’ and represented the country on the global stage. Mahi is going this time in that sequence.
Samira Khan Mahi’s real name is Farzana Yasmin Koli. She was born on February 7, 1997, in Laxmipur of Sylhet. Mahi’s family hailed from Dirai upazila of Sunamganj, even though she spent her childhood in Sylhet.
