PM promises sports gear to children
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has promised to arrange sports equipment for a group of children after speaking with them about their favourite games following Friday prayers at the Central Mosque of the Bangladesh Navy Headquarters in Banani.
After offering Jummah prayers, the Prime Minister asked the children about their well-being and the games they played, his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said.
Some of the children told him they played football and cricket. Tarique also asked whether they played basketball and table tennis, Rumon said.
The Prime Minister then assured the children that he would arrange sports equipment for them, according to the press secretary.
Before leaving, Tarique shook hands with the children and bade them farewell, saying, “Okay, everyone stay well.”
The interaction took place a day after the Prime Minister inaugurated the second season of the nationwide ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ competition at Khulna District Stadium on Thursday.
