BUET to hold 14th grand reunion in Jan 2027

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has opened an online registration portal for its 14th Grand Reunion, scheduled to mark the university’s 150th anniversary in January next year.

The reunion will take place from January 6 to 13, 2027, bringing together former students from Bangladesh and abroad.

The registration portal was formally launched at 11:00am on Tuesday at a ceremony held in the seminar room of the Alumni Association office on the BUET campus.

Engineer Abdur Rouf, convener of the Grand Reunion organising committee, chaired the programme.

Former BUET Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr AKM Masud and current Acting Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr Mohammad Abdul Motaleb attended the event as special guests.

Engineer Imu Riazul Hasan, member secretary of the organising committee, and Engineer Atikur Rahman Bhuiyan Pinu, secretary general of the BUET Alumni Association, were also present.

Speaking at the event, Abdur Rouf described the university’s 150th anniversary as a historic moment.

He said the modern and automated online registration system had been introduced to make it easier for thousands of BUET alumni living in Bangladesh and different parts of the world to join the reunion.

The guests expressed hope that the online platform would simplify the registration process for former students worldwide.

They also hoped that the collective participation of alumni would make the 150th anniversary celebration a memorable milestone in the university’s history.
