Pubali Bank opens new Islamic Banking branch

Pubali Bank PLC has inaugurated its Gulshan Circle-1 Branch as the Gulshan Circle-1 Islamic Banking Branch, marking another step towards expanding its Shariah-based modern Islamic banking services.

Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury, former managing director of Pubali Bank PLC, formally inaugurated the branch and attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Ahmed Enayet Manzur, deputy managing director of Pubali Bank PLC, attended as the guest of honour, while Mohammad Humayun Kabir, general manager and head of the Islamic Banking Wing, was present as the special guest.

The programme was presided over by Md Moniruzzaman, deputy general manager and head of the branch.

Among others, AKM Abdur Raqib, general manager and regional head, Dhaka North; Md Kamaruzzaman, general manager of the Islamic Banking Wing and head of Shariah; and Kazi Shaswoti Islam, general manager of the Mahakhali Corporate Branch, were present at the ceremony, along with senior bank officials, local businesspeople, customers, and well-wishers.

Addressing the programme, chief guest Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury said that Islamic banking is not merely a financial service; rather, it is founded on the principles of ethics, transparency, and mutual trust.

He expressed hope that expanding Islamic banking services through this new branch would help meet customers’ growing needs and give them greater access to Shariah-based banking facilities.

He also emphasised that maintaining customers’ trust through quality service, transparency, and compliance would make the branch a reliable banking destination.
