JUST Prof receives patent for Nano-Urea
Professor Dr. Md. Javed Hossain Khan, a nanotechnology researcher at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), has received patent approval for his nano-urea invention after a wait of five years and two months.
The Bangladesh Patent Office approved the patent on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the development of innovative and environmentally friendly agricultural technologies in the country.
According to Dr. Javed, the patent application was submitted in 2021 but remained pending for an extended period.
The approval process subsequently advanced following the formation of the BNP government, with support from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Md. Ismail Zabiullah, adviser to the Ministry of Public Administration, according to the researcher.
Reacting to the development, Dr. Javed expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to securing the patent.
“We applied to the Bangladesh Patent Office in 2021. After a long wait, we have finally received patent approval.
The prime minister’s directives and the sincere assistance of adviser Md. Ismail Zabiullah played an important role in this achievement,” he said.
He said the primary objective of his research was to benefit the country’s people, particularly farmers, by developing technologies that serve the interests of agriculture and the environment.
