The Brazilian, who formed a legendary partnership with Messi during their time together at Barcelona, paid a tribute to the Argentina legend on Instagram.

“Anyone who loves football has enjoyed you throughout all these years,” Neymar wrote on Instagram.
“Today is your final game wearing the shirt of your national team, your country, and I hope you enjoy every second of it and that all the tributes today make you happy.”

Neymar went on to highlight the global impact Messi has had on the sport. “It’s not only Argentina that thanks you; the whole world thanks you for everything you’ve done for football.”

The Brazilian then reflected on his personal relationship with the Argentine, both as a rival and a teammate.
