After arriving in Japan, the rain did not leave the Bangladesh cricket team behind.

Litton Das and his team could not practice properly due to rain. Tuesday’s match against Malaysia in the quarter-final of the Asian Games cricket was also abandoned.

Although Bangladesh have advanced to the semi-finals as they are ahead in the rankings. Litton Das’s team will face Pakistan in the semi-final, which starts today at 6:00am (Bangladesh Standard Time).

If this match will be washed out by rain, Pakistan will advance to the final as they are ahead in the rankings. However, there is good news for the Bangladesh team, the Litton & Co. have seen sunshine in Aichi-Nagoya.

The Bangladesh cricket team’s middle-order batter Yasir Ali hopes that there will be such sunshine on the day of the match.

He said, “I think this is the first time we have seen sunshine since coming to Japan. It feels good, we were able to take the field a little better today. I hope we will get good weather to play.”

In a video message sent by the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA), Yasir said, “We always keep ourselves mentally prepared. As much as we can put ourselves on the field, like the whole team had a gym session. We could not bat and bowl, but we came to the field, we practiced on the football field, played football.”

In 2010, Bangladesh men’s cricket team won gold in cricket after participating in the Asian Games for the first time. They won bronze the next two times.

The girls have never returned empty-handed before this time. Bangladesh has no other medal in this Asian Games except for bronze in wushu. Therefore, the expectations of a medal are high in men’s cricket.

To fulfill that expectation, they will first have to defeat Pakistan in the semi-finals. Yasir is hopeful of doing well against Pakistan, which has been going through turmoil in the last few months, “I will not say it is shaky, they are a very good team. When we go out on the cricket field, we are all a good team.

“The one who plays well will win. We will play our best, that’s it.”
