Escape from abduction by jumping off motorcycle

Shah Alam Sarkar, the abducted deed writer, escaped by jumping from a moving motorcycle after being summoned to Belkuchi in Sirajganj to execute a deed.

The incident took place in Hat Pangasi Bazar area of Raiganj on Saturday night. Later the locals chased the two persons and handed them over to the police.

According to family sources, on September 24, Shah Alam was summoned from Belkuchi by a trick to execute a document. Later he was detained in Phulkocha village of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila. 50 lakh taka were demanded from the family in exchange for release.

At one point, the family reported the matter to the police as they did not release him even after paying the money.

The family informed that Shah Alam was taken from Phulkocha to Raiganj on Saturday night after realising the police activity and trying to identify the location of the mobile phone.

At that time, Shah Alam alleged that he was placed on a motorcycle between the two men and a pistol was kept on his waist.

Shah Alam jumped from the moving motorcycle near Hat Pangasi market. When he shouted for help, the locals came forward and rescued him.

They chased the two people who tried and arrested them and handed them over to the police. Later, the two arrested were admitted to the Sirajganj Government Medical College Hospital under police guard as they were injured in the beating by the locals.

The arrested persons are Shah Jamal of Phulkocha village of Sadar Upazila and Shahabuddin of Sayadhangarha village. The police are investigating the allegations of kidnapping and ransom demand against them.

OC Muktaruzzaman of Belkuchi police station said that two people are detained in the incident. They are undergoing treatment. No weapon was recovered so far. Legal process is ongoing.

Colleagues of Shah Alam said that he was called by an acquaintance to execute the document. Being kidnapped like this is very worrying. Such a dangerous situation could have been avoided if the matter had been understood earlier.
