DUET holds industry-academia event

The “Industry-Academia Collaborative Event 2026” was held at Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET) in Gazipur on Sunday, bringing together university officials, researchers, students and representatives from various industries to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The event was organised by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The first session featured a roundtable discussion titled “Strengthening Start-up, Innovation and Industry-Academia Collaboration” at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room. Deans, heads of departments, institute directors, the director of research and extension, industry representatives and other stakeholders attended the session.

Prof Dr Abdullah-Al-Mamun, a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), attended the programme as the chief guest, while DUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Engineer Mohammad Iqbal chaired it.
