President urges BOU to modernise learning activities

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for expanding and modernising Bangladesh Open University (BOU)’s distance learning activities to provide quality education to students outside the conventional education system.

The President made the call when a five-member delegation of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, paid a courtesy call on him on Sunday afternoon.

President’s Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam briefed BSS about the meeting. During the meeting, the BOU Vice-Chancellor congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on assuming office as President.

He briefed the President on the university’s overall activities, including its educational programmes for around 350,000 students, Media Centre, academic schools, study centres, educational programmes conducted abroad, and regional and sub-regional centres.
