Free medical camp opens for Durga Puja in Bandarban
A free medical camp offering consultations with specialist doctors and free medicines was launched at Bandarban’s Rajar Math on Monday to mark Sharadiya Durga Puja.
Chattogram Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abdul Quddus Chowdhury, PPM, inaugurated the camp as the chief guest while visiting the central Durga Puja mandap organised by the Central Durga Puja Celebration Council on Monday.
During the visit, the Range DIG inspected the puja mandap and exchanged views with leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee on various issues, including security arrangements.
He said district police and other law enforcement agencies had taken various measures to ensure the security of Durga Puja mandaps across Bandarban.
Law enforcement personnel would remain deployed at every mandap until October 21 to ensure the smooth and peaceful celebration of the festival, he added.
Chowdhury noted that Durga Puja was being celebrated in a festive atmosphere across all districts of the Chattogram Division this year. He extended his greetings to members of the Hindu community and assured them of all-out cooperation to ensure the peaceful completion of the celebrations.
