Rifat Chy undergoing treatment in hospital
Actor and poet Rifat Chowdhury has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to illness. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Medicine Unit of the hospital’s new building.
According to his family, Rifat has been suffering from weakness, excessive fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain and insomnia for some time.
He is receiving treatment under the supervision of doctors, who are providing the necessary care for his recovery. Rifat has acted in more than 500 television dramas during his long career.
He has earned praise for his performances in popular dramas including ‘House Full’, ‘Aim in Life’, ‘Patigonit’, ‘420’, ‘Sixty Nine (69)’, ‘Bonmanush’, ‘Bicycle’, ‘Carrom’ and ‘Murir Tin’.
His portrayal of ‘Jatiyo Kaka’ in ‘Sixty Nine (69)’ brought him widespread recognition among television audiences. Rifat has also made a name for himself as a poet.
He entered the world of poetry in 1984 with the poem ‘Alingoner Naam’. According to reports, 29 of his books have been published so far.
