JUST secures 2nd place at Bangladesh Innovation Fair

Five universities were declared champions at the three-day (September 12-14) national-level ‘Bangladesh Innovation Fair-2026,’ held at Novotheatre in the capital with the participation of public and private universities from across the country.

Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) earned the honor of securing second place. To celebrate this glorious achievement by the researchers, a colorful victory rally and a brief gathering were held on the JUST campus today. JUST received this prestigious recognition based on its innovative research, demonstration of modern technology, and practical applications.

A victory rally started in front of the university’s administrative building on Tuesday. The procession moved along the main campus road, circled the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building and the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building, and concluded back at the administrative building.

Speaking at the gathering, JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yarul Kabir stated that today’s achievement is a recognition of the high-quality research and innovative work conducted at JUST.

He remarked that research is never a solitary endeavor but a collaborative effort.

He attributed the successful completion of these projects to the hard work and excellent teamwork of the university’s teachers, researchers, and students.

He expressed great delight that relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, have shown interest in bringing these research innovations to market as finished products for the welfare of the nation’s people.

He further added that JUST has now established itself as one of the leading institutions for research in Bangladesh. Our primary responsibility now is to sustain this trajectory and standard of research.

We expect that our students, having gained their initial grounding in world-class research here, will spread across the globe and bring honor to the country.

University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan stated, “It is through the hard work and innovative talent of our researchers that JUST has achieved this remarkable success and recognition. Several of our projects in the competition caught the attention of top government officials.

These projects will play a significant role in the welfare of the general public alongside fostering commercial expansion. While the university administration provided logistical support and encouragement, the true achievement belongs to our teachers and students.

However, this is not the end; it is merely a new beginning. We must move forward by maintaining this position and pursuing further innovations.

The administration is committed to providing all forms of assistance and support to our researchers to achieve this goal.”
