The Film Directors’ Day was organised by Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association at the BFDC on Wednesday. Information Minister Andaleeve Rahman Partho was present as the chief guest at the event.

A video of the event is being discussed on social media. In the video, it can be seen that towards the end of the event, actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi, with the help of fashion designer Gautam, approached the minister and stood to take a picture.

At that time, the minister smiled and said that he had another job and quickly left the place after exchanging greetings. During that time, a slight embarrassment was also seen on Dighi’s face.

Actor and director Shahriar Nazim Joy expressed his observations about the video. According to him, artistes should move away from the tendency to stand next to ministers and take pictures outside of work.

In a status posted on social media regarding the incident, Joy said that while many people are interested in taking pictures with Dighi, he did not see any excessive interest in the minister in taking pictures with her in the video.
Joy mentioned two messages surrounding this incident.

He said that the presence of some government ministers and advisors at film industry events after August 5 is a positive message for the industry.

At the same time, artistes should refrain from the tendency to unnecessarily stand next to ministers and take pictures outside of work.

Joy wrote, “He helped the artiste by taking a picture standing next to the minister to avoid getting into trouble in the future.

Artistes should understand that the days of taking pictures standing next to ministers for no reason outside of work are over.”

He also said that if the film industry becomes self-sufficient and artistes succeed in developing their talents, ministers will be interested in taking pictures with them.

Joy also congratulated the Film Directors’ Association for organising such an event that brought together senior government officials and film luminaries.

At the same time, he praised the contribution of media personality Faridur Reza Sagar, calling him the main guardian and behind-the-scenes hero of the film industry.
