SQ Group wins two Golds, Jury’s special award

Three honours recognise the Group’s progress in ESG strategy, Women’s leadership, and Workforce development.

SQ Group, the Bangladesh manufacturing arm of Singapore-headquartered Q Collection, has received three major honours at Bangladesh’s inaugural ESG Excellence Awards, recognising progress across sustainability, inclusion, and workforce development.

The Group received the Gold Award – Sector Leader for Excellence in ESG Strategy & Policy Implementation, recognising its work to strengthen ESG governance and implement its Environmental and Social Management System across operations, alongside continued investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

A second Gold Award – Sector Leader for Excellence in Gender Equity & Women Leadership Advancement recognised the Group’s efforts to create stronger pathways for women within manufacturing. Its Female Supervisor Programme supports women in progressing from factory-floor roles into supervisory and leadership positions, complemented by day-care facilities and dedicated facilities for new mothers.

SQ Group also received the Jury’s Special Award – Outstanding Story for Excellence in Skills Development & Workforce Upskilling, highlighting its investment in structured training and the Integrated Digital Academy, its digital learning platform.

The initiative is designed to strengthen technical, digital and leadership capabilities as manufacturing becomes increasingly technology driven.

The breadth of the recognition is significant. Rather than rewarding a single sustainability initiative, the three honours span how the Group operates, how it creates opportunities for women, and how it prepares its people for the future.

For SQ Group and Q Collection, the awards mark an important milestone in a longer journey. ESG is not viewed simply as a reporting or compliance requirement, but as part of building a more responsible, inclusive, and competitive manufacturing business for the future.
