Jamuna Bank concludes free plastic surgery camp in Munshiganj

Jamuna Bank Foundation has concluded a free plastic surgery camp in Munshiganj, providing medical consultations to 326 patients and free surgical procedures to 135 patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and burn-related injuries.

Organised and funded by the foundation in collaboration with Netherlands-based Sichting Interplast Holland, the camp was held at General Hospital, Munshiganj, from 26 September to 7 October.

The initiative provided specialised medical treatment and surgical services at no cost to patients, according to the press release.

A closing ceremony was held at a hotel in the capital to mark the successful completion of the camp, which ran for nearly two weeks.

Al-Haj Nur Mohammed, chairman of Jamuna Bank Foundation and chairman of the executive committee and a director of Jamuna Bank PLC, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Md Shahidul Islam, CEO of Jamuna Bank Foundation and deputy managing director and chief risk officer of Jamuna Bank PLC, attended as the special guest.

Dr Menno Huikeshoven, plastic surgeon and team leader, attended as a guest of honour alongside members of the medical team from Sichting Interplast Holland.

Senior officials of Jamuna Bank PLC and other dignitaries were also present at the ceremony.
