Free diabetes testing held
Service Day was observed at Advocate Hemayet Uddin Ahmed Diabetic and General Hospital in Barishal on Sunday, marking the 37th death anniversary of National Professor Mohammad Ibrahim, founder of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh.
The hospital organised free diabetes testing and diagnosis, a discussion meeting and a prayer session to marking the day.
Barishal-5 lawmaker Advocate Mojibur Rahman Sarwar inaugurated the programme by cutting a ribbon on Sunday.
From 9am to 11am, several hundred patients received free diabetes tests and diagnostic services at the hospital.
Sarwar later attended the discussion meeting as the chief guest.
Hospital Superintendent Dr Manabendra Sarkar, Barishal Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Ziauddin Sikder Zia, and Dr Nazrul Islam, a member of the convening committee of the Barishal Diabetic Association, were present.
Doctors, officials and employees of the hospital, along with leaders of various political parties, also attended the programme.
Following the discussion, prayers were offered seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of National Professor Mohammad Ibrahim.
