Special training held in RNPP
A special training programme on the calculation of technical and economic indicators has been inaugurated to make performance assessment, power generation efficiency and technical data analysis at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant more effective and systematic.
The training was inaugurated on Monday at the plant’s conference room, with engineers and officials from various departments participating.
Director of Rosenergoatom’s Bangladesh branch, Sinyakov Vadim Vladimirovich, attended the programme as the chief guest. Dr. Md. Zahedul Hassan, Managing Director of Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh Limited (NPCBL), chaired the event. Chief Superintendent of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Md. Yamin Ali delivered the welcome address.
Dr. Zahedul Hassan said the overall performance and generation efficiency of a modern power plant depend on various technical operational and economic indicators. Changes in different systems, equipment and operational parameters can directly or indirectly affect power generation and the overall performance of a generating unit.
He said systematic calculation and analysis of technical and economic indicators would enable regular monitoring of important plant data. This would help assess, based on data, how changes in operational parameters, systems and equipment affect power generation and unit performance.
He further said different systems and parameters of a generating unit are interconnected. Therefore, a change in one system or parameter may affect other related systems and overall generation efficiency. Regular monitoring and analysis of relevant indicators are essential to properly assess such impacts.
Dr. Zahedul Hassan expressed hope that the training would provide engineers and officials with practical knowledge and skills to analyse the relationship between unit performance, operational conditions and technical and economic indicators. The skills would also support future data analysis, performance assessment, report preparation and evidence-based decision-making.
Chief guest Sinyakov Vadim Vladimirovich urged the trainees to participate actively in the programme, gain practical knowledge and apply the learning effectively in their professional work.
