Bank Asia holds anti-money laundering training
Bank Asia PLC has organised a day-long training programme in Panchagarh on preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, with a focus on compliance and financial crime risks.
The programme was jointly arranged with the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Department of Bangladesh Bank at Eco Mohananda Cottage in Tetulia on 5 September, according to a press release.
Branch managers, operations managers and officials working in trade, general banking and credit across the region participated in the training.
Participants also received guidance on mitigating trade-based money laundering and cross-border risks.
Bangladesh Bank Director ATM Kamrul Kabir Bhuiyan attended the programme as the chief guest, while Bank Asia Additional Managing Director Mohd Ziaul H Molla chaired the event.
Bangladesh Bank Additional Directors Amitabh Chakraborty and Tarun Tapan Tripura, and Joint Director Md Atikur Rahaman served as resource persons.
All three officials represent the central bank’s Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Department.
